Want to see what readers have thought? Retired polls will hang out here. And so will my thoughts about them.

Okay, then. I'll take this to heart. When I hear about readers' encounters with freaks (aka bad dates), I'll be sure to pass them along. Don't worry, though! They'll still mostly be mine. I promise.

I can't decide if I'm surprised at this outcome. For me, the lack of reading and working are most egregious. But maybe living with an ex-wife is worse? I mean, I certainly don't want someone living with an ex, but I guess I can imagine a scenario in which that might be necessary. Mind you, that's not the scenario that prompted this question, but I can imagine a time and place when that might be necessary. I have a hard time imagining the lack of reading, though. I'm pretty sure I'd read three books before I was 5 years old. And never having a job? Well, that's just plain lazy. I had a boyfriend in college who'd never worked - and he never did until he graduated from medical school. That wasn't cool then. It's still not cool now.
